Runner's High

6:00 a.m. **groan**
If my friend wasn't meeting me I would totally be going back to sleep right now. I guess that was the point of having a work out partner in the first place but right now it doesn't seem like such a great idea.

6:15 a.m. dressed and eating a mini whole grain bagel w/ peanut butter; eyes half closed; 2 swigs of orange Gatorade

6:30 a.m. go outside to meet my friend.....brrrrr....must be -10 degrees out here...what? it's 40 degrees?..who new that "above freezing" could be so freezing....thinking about my toasty warm bed

6:31 a.m. start jogging....mmmm....brisk air in the lungs....legs start warming up...blood starts pumping

6:40 a.m. this isn't so bad...pick up the pace a little

6:50 a.m. feeling good but starting to get tired...maybe we should walk home

6:55 a.m. start my marine-drill sergeant-impersonation-self-motivational-speech to keep going

6:56 a.m. my legs respond to my threats and keep running

6:57 a.m. lungs burning, legs burning, hair burning--j/k

6:59 a.m. sprint to the finish line (my driveway)

7:00 a.m. We did it!! Who needs drugs when you can get a high like this?
