Stuck and In the Mud

The weirdest thing happened the other day.  On the way home from school, Katie was climbing over a large pile of snow and somehow got her foot stuck.  Natalie ran home and got me and I thought, "Sure, sure, she's stuck."  Well, she really was.  It was the strangest thing.  We couldn't even see her boot.  She pulled and pulled but her foot wouldn't budge.  She couldn't even pull her foot out of her boot.  I finally went back home and got some gloves and a small shovel.  It still took us a while to dig her out.  Maybe it had something to do with the warm weather making the snow soft and slushy.  I don't know.  If she had been alone she would not have been able to get herself out.  Crazy! (That's the hole where her boot had been.)

A couple days later they had another adventure.  This time in the mud.  Things have been really warm the last few days and everything is wet and muddy.  They found a fabulous mud pile to play in.
